Additional Information

Unparalleled System Quality

No other system in the state – or even the nation – has achieved this combination of recognition for quality, safety, technology and clinical excellence. Detroit Medical Center's successful implementation of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) places it in the 99th percentile of U.S. Hospitals in EMR adoption. This level of implementation - Physician Documentation, full Clinical Decision Support System and full Picture Archive Communication System - indicates that DMC is using electronic collaboration and document review to a nearly unsurpassed degree, in support of patient safety.

DMC hospitals have also received American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) MAGNET Recognition designated for nursing excellence - recognized as one of the highest distinctions a hospital can receive. DMC Children’s Hospital is the only Children’s Hospital in Michigan and DMC Detroit Receiving is the only adult specialty hospital in Detroit with this award.

Three DMC hospitals – DMC Detroit Receiving Hospital, DMC Harper University/Hutzel Women’s Hospital and DMC Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital – met the stringent national standards of the Leapfrog Group, the nation’s premier quality ranking agency, to receive honors as top hospitals in the nation for patient quality and safety 2010. This is the fourth consecutive year that DMC Harper University Hospital and the third consecutive year that DMC Detroit Receiving Hospital were selected as Leapfrog Top Hospitals based on their quality and safety scores.
