- Nationally ranked as one of the best children’s hospitals in the country by U.S. News & World Report, Children’s Hospital of Michigan is the only Level I Pediatric Trauma Center in Metro Detroit verified by the American College of Surgeons.
- Children’s Hospital of Michigan is the only dedicated pediatric burn center in the state of Michigan and one of a few in the nation to be verified by the American Burn Association (ABA) and the Committee on Trauma of the American College of Surgeons (ACS).
- PANDA One, the state's only pediatric and neonatal dedicated ambulance, is on-call to provide specialized transportation for children and newborns that need to receive care at Children’s Hospital of Michigan.
- Regional Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), providing the highest level of neonatal care for the sickest and most high-risk infants.

DMC Trauma Centers
In addition to emergency care across the greater metro Detroit region, we’re home to four verified trauma centers. Trauma centers are given level designations depending on the center’s ability to provide comprehensive services to treat a variety of medical traumas. Trauma centers vary from Level I to Level V designations, with Level I Trauma Centers being the highest designation for trauma care.
In addition to trauma centers, which are housed as a part of the emergency room at our hospitals, DMC also offers inpatient critical care units. Commonly called the ICU, intensive care units are specialized units providing care to our most critical patients.

Children’s Hospital of Michigan
Our Midtown Campus is verified as a Level I pediatric trauma center providing the highest quality trauma care for all injured patients. We offer two specialized emergency rooms in Midtown Detroit and Troy dedicated to pediatric emergency care.
DMC Detroit Receiving Hospital
A leader in emergency medicine and trauma care, DMC Detroit Receiving Hospital is a verified Level I Trauma Center which means we provide total care for every aspect of injury – from prevention through rehabilitation. Delivering this standard of excellence is made possible by a collaborative team made up of some of the nation’s finest surgeons, doctors, nurses, technicians, lab personnel and many others who work diligently to offer the best in emergency and trauma medicine. DMC Detroit Receiving Hospital is a verified Adult Burn Center through the American Burn Association.
DMC Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital
Designated and verified by the State of Michigan as a Level III Trauma Center in Commerce Twp., DMC Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital is here to help with emergencies big and small. Backed by access to the entire network of DMC physicians and clinical staff, we provide prompt assessment, resuscitation, surgery, intensive care and stabilization of injured patients and emergency operations. DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital
Verified as a Level II Trauma Center in Northwest Detroit, DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital is able to initiate definitive care for all injured patients. A trauma surgeon is available to respond rapidly 24 hours a day. DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital also offers family-centered Intensive Care Units (Surgical ICU and Medical ICU) that include large, private rooms for patients and their families.
