Support From An OB Nurse Navigator
The role of the OB nurse navigator is to support you throughout your pregnancy and help to ensure you have the best possible experience at the DMC. An OB nurse navigator provides:
Guidance at Each Step: Helping you understand each stage of pregnancy so you know what to expect, and teaching you what is normal versus when to seek help so you are informed, confident and prepared.
Consistent Support: A dedicated point of contact to answer your questions, address concerns and provide reassurance.
Healthcare Coordination: Connecting you with the right doctors, specialists and services so your care is personalized and streamlined, saving you time and effort.
Access to Community Resources: Our OB nurse navigators provide information about local support groups, parenting classes, mental health services, maternal infant health programs, breastfeeding support, doula services and transportation options.
Postpartum Support: The support doesn’t end when you deliver. The navigator will help you plan for postpartum care, including lactation support, pediatrician options and follow-up care for both you and your baby.
