The DMC Birthing Experience

Every birth is unique, every mother is unique and every baby is a special new gift to the world. But all births have a few things in common: there are times of excitement, anticipation, nervousness and hope. Regardless of where your pregnancy journey leads you and your baby, our obstetrics team in Metro Detroit is ready. While caring for generations of women and children, the compassionate teams at the DMC and Children’s Hospital of Michigan have seen it all. From the moment you walk through our doors, you and your baby will be treated with kindness and compassion.

The DMC offers three birthing centers in Michigan. Our OB/GYN doctors and experienced staff are ready to serve you with warmth and understanding, as well as the technical skill and clinical judgment that are vital to a positive delivery experience. You can be confident that you’ll be in good hands—hands that are both experienced and compassionate.

All three DMC birthing centers in Michigan are equipped for:

  • Routine pregnancies, where the baby stays with the mother in their private birthing suites
  • Complex pregnancies, supported by Maternal-Fetal Medicine physicians who receive additional training in complex pregnancies
  • Advanced care for babies, Special Care Nurseries, and/or NICUs
  • Pain management options
  • Lactation support
  • Registered nurses with extensive training in newborn care
