About David Rustom

"Just like no two people share the same fingerprint, I believe that no two people are alike. With that said, I approach each patient individually and take into consideration their social, personal, medical, and psychological well-being before devising an individualized plan of care. I like to establish goals with patients, along with appropriate expectations, which make us all unique." Dr. David Rustom believes pain is multifactorial and is comprised of physical, psychological, emotional, social, and contextual features. He takes a multi-modal treatment approach to pain control for the best resolution. Dr. Rustom encourages patients to take advantage of physical and occupational therapies. In addition, he accompanies these modes of relief with medication management, interventional pain procedures, and spinal cord stimulation. With technology advancing, he stays up-to-date with medical research and incorporates new medical innovations as they become available. Originally from the Metro Detroit Area, Dr. Rustom discovered his passion for medicine after being challenged with an Anatomy and Physiology course while attending Wayne State University. He chose the field of Pain Management as he frequently saw the quality of life affected by pain. Dr. Rustom’s goal is to manage pain, both safely and comfortably, allowing people to enjoy their livelihood and partake in the things they love most. When he is not treating patients, Dr. Rustom likes to travel, enjoys outdoor activities, and spending time with his family.
