Sport Specific Training

Note: Participants must be assessed by a DMC/RIM Certified Athletic Trainer in the first session to determine readiness to begin any sport specific training program.

Sport specific training is designed to give an athlete Performance Enhancement instruction and training in their specific sport. Training can help the athlete return from injury, prevent injury or simply to improve performance.

Training can be performed as an individual or in a group, and each program includes sports specific training in strength, speed, agility, quickness, plyometrics, flexibility and endurance. Programs last 12 weeks, and are available in the following disciplines:

Team Training

Designed for teams, including their coaching staffs, to improve performance with Sports Conditioning instruction and programs. Programs are individually tailored toward the team’s needs, including general player performance screenings, instruction in warm up programs and conditioning and performance programs. Training can be performed on or off site and is available in the following disciplines:

Individual Skill Training Classes – Speed, Agility, Quickness

Each athlete is given a ranking determined by their strength, endurance, sprinting and jumping ability. Running technique is also assessed. Athletes can use this ranking to monitor their progress and as a motivational tool to reach the highest rankings of Speed, Agility and Quickness! Training classes are one hour in length, and we recommend 8-12 sessions for optimal success.

Jump Training Class

Vertical jump and ground reaction time are measured and ranked. Participants then go through flexibility, strength and jump technique training. Through a systematic progression, athletes will see the link between strength and speed of movement to produce power and a BIG Jump. Athletes can monitor their progress and use the ranking as a motivational tool to improve their vertical jump.

Advanced Target Jump Training Class

This unique jump training program tests an athlete’s ability to jump in real sport situations, like blocking a basketball shot, heading a soccer ball, catching a football or spiking a volleyball. Athletes can monitor their progress, focusing on their weakness to improve their jump skill in all aspects of their game.

Prerequisite: Must complete the Jump Training Class.

Transitional Rehab Program

For athletes that have been discharged from a physical therapy program within the last three months, this program provides assessments and training to prepare for returning to the sport. Under the supervision of Certified Athletic Trainers, athletes rebuild to previous performance levels through balance, strength, flexibility, acceleration/deceleration, jump and endurance training. This class is ideal for those recovering from knee, ankle, shoulder or elbow injuries. Frequency/number of sessions is customized for each athlete.

Outreach Program

A dynamic interactive presentation brought to your site that teaches proper warm-up, conditioning and jump-training techniques to improve performance and prevent knee injury. This program is targeted at female athletes ages nine – college level, their coaches and parents.

2.5 hour session

Coaches Clinic

A coach-focused program that teaches how to train female athletes to improve their performance on the court or field. Practical coaching and training tools on warm-up conditioning and drills to improve performance and prevent injury.

Four hour session, limit 10 coaches

Individual Athlete Assessments

This program is designed for the athlete who wants to reach their pinnacle of performance. Each athlete is tested with a rigorous assessment similar to the NFL, NBA or WNBA combine. The information gained will not only help you become a better athlete, it will help you understand where you rank in performance measures compared to others in your sport.

Included with each assessment:

  • Functional Movement Screen (FMS)
  • Sport Specific Skill Testing, including Dartfish Sport Analyzer
  • Sprint Technique
  • Jumping

Athletes completing a sport specific training program 8 weeks or greater will receive a post program re-assessment of sprinting, jumping and skill at no charge.
