Detroit Medical Center names new Chief Nursing Officer

Detroit – Amy Hamilton, RN, MSN, is the new Group Chief Nursing Officer for the Detroit Medical Center. Her appointment is effective immediately. Amy will continue in her role as CNO for DMC Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital. Amy-Hamilton-Feat

Since March of this year Amy has served as Interim Group CNO for the DMC. She joined our organization in 2019 as the Administrative Inpatient Nursing Director at DMC Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital, and in January of 2021 she became the CNO at HVSH.

Amy is a dedicated healthcare professional with strong leadership skills and vast clinical experience.

Her priorities in this leadership role will be recruitment/retention, a commitment to our community and our employees, and striving for consistency amongst sites with the highest standards and the safest and highest quality patient care.

Amy will also focus on enhancing our relationships with nursing schools to improve nursing education and create opportunities at the DMC for graduating nurses.

Amy earned her undergraduate degree in nursing at Oakland University, and her MSN from the University of Phoenix.
