Detroit Medical Center Announces Free Self-Parking at all of its Facilities

Jan 8, 2019

The Detroit Medical Center (DMC) announced that effective January 1, 2019, patients and their family members will enjoy free self-parking at DMC's Midtown Detroit campus public parking decks, excluding valet services. This new parking policy is welcomed news to those who have expressed dissatisfaction with having to pay for parking in order to access appointments and testing along with the hardships it posed for family members visiting their loved ones.

“The overall hospital experience is an area where the DMC would like to make a real difference in the lives of both patients and visitors,” said Dr. Anthony Tedeschi, CEO of Detroit Medical Center. “This new parking policy is not only important to the patient experience but is the right thing to do for their convenience, comfort and well-being.”

Free patient and family self-parking will be available at the following parking decks:

  • Beaubien Deck
  • Center Deck
  • Kresge Deck
  • North Deck
  • South Deck
  • Children's Hospital of Michigan Specialty Center - Detroit Parking Lot
This change in practice brings DMC’s Midtown Detroit campus parking policy in alignment with the public parking policies at other DMC hospitals including Sinai-Grace Hospital and Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital.
