Dion Williams
Group Director of Community Engagement, Detroit Medical Center
Dion Williams is Group Director of Community Engagement for the Detroit Medical Center. He join ed the DMC in November of 2023.
Dion is a community outreach professional with more than 25 years of experience in political, ecumenical and grassroots relationship building. Throughout his long career Dion has worked in a wide variety of community outreach roles including serving as the Director of Faith Based & Urban Affairs for Governor Whitmer and the State of Michigan, Outreach Coordinator for the Office of Community & Faith Engagement for the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, and Outreach Liaison for the City of Detroit Mayor's Office. Dion also served as Ecumenical Advisor to the DMC for its Path to Health Program, an initiative designed to assist residents in obtaining health insurance.
In this role, Dion will sustain and establish outreach, engagement, and community relation initiatives to promote the DMC and our service to the community. He will work collaboratively with hospital and health system leaders and outside stakeholders to ensure the DMC is visible in the communities we serve and is advancing total community health and health equity.
A native of Detroit, Dion studied business management at Wayne State University.
