Patty Jobbitt Named as One of Crain's Detroit Business Most Notable Women in Healthcare

DETROIT — Patty Jobbitt, the chief executive officer at the DMC Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan, has been honored as a Crain’s Detroit Business 2020 Most Notable Women in Healthcare.

As CEO of Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan (RIM), Jobbitt is a strategic healthcare leader specializing in the field of rehabilitation. She spent most of her professional career at RIM in senior level positions, where she spearheaded major growth in service. She joined RIM in 1983 as a staff physical therapist and transitioned into leadership roles including supervisor, administrative director, COO and now the CEO.

“I have to credit my incredible team at RIM for this amazing honor,” Jobbitt said. “It is a privilege to walk through these doors and lead this organization full of dedicated and committed health care professionals. I have been fortunate in my career to have had the opportunity to witness the miracles that take place within our walls and ambulatory network.”

Under her leadership, RIM expanded its network of outpatient therapy clinics from three, to now over 30 clinics across three counties. Jobbitt also engineered and standardized the rehabilitation service line across seven Detroit Medical Center hospitals, including adult and pediatric rehabilitation for acute care, inpatient and outpatient. She is passionate about the patient experience and employee engagement, leading to the creation of the “RIM Way,” to transform the culture of RIM into a highly reliable quality and safety organization, a model now being used by other hospitals.

Jobbitt is a hands-on CEO who cares deeply about her patients, physicians and employees. She listens and takes action on their concerns and celebrates their successes. She is a creative, forward thinking, personable, fun loving and fit.
