Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital and Charach Family Honors Cancer Survivors at Annual “Just For You” Free Event

Cancer SurvivorThe staff of the Charach Cancer Treatment Center (CCTC) at Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital (HVSH) hosted about 150 patients during the 16th Annual Just for You event at Edgewood Country Club in Commerce on Friday, Oct. 5.

The free event was supported by the Manny and Natalie Charach Family Fund and is organized by staff members of the CCTC and HVSH. Detroit icon and nationally-recognized flutist and jazz musician, Alexander Zonjic, and Phase 5 Motown review band put on a live concert for the cancer survivors, while guests enjoyed four presentations intended to inspire and heal. Kids Kicking Cancer founder Rabbi Ethan Goldberg and three of his KKC kids demonstrated breathing techniques to help with pain and stress; Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan (RIM) PT Jennifer Burley presented on benefits of exercise for cancer patients; HVSH Dietitian Liz Bailey showed how eating the right foods can help the body's defenses; and a clutter busting coach, Michaeline Raczka presented on living a more vigorous life.
