DMC Hospitals Receive High Rankings in U.S. News & World Report

Detroit, MI – August 14, 2018 – Detroit Medical Center (DMC) hospitals earned high marks in the annual U.S. News & World Report’s 2018-2019 Best Hospitals rankings for adult clinical specialties. Hospitals are ranked nationally in specialties from cancer to urology and rated in common procedures and conditions, such as heart bypass surgery, hip and knee replacement and COPD. Hospitals are also ranked regionally within states and major metro areas.

DMC’s Harper University Hospital ranked nationally in four specialty areas and ranked in the top five in both the state and metro Detroit rankings. Harper was also designated as a high performing facility in six additional specialties. In addition, Sinai-Grace Hospital received statewide and metro Detroit rankings along with high performer ratings in three specialties.

Located on DMC’s main hospital campus within the Midtown district of Detroit, Harper University Hospital ranked in the top 50 in Neurology & Neurosurgery, Nephrology and Geriatrics. Its top five ratings included 5th overall in Michigan and 4th in metro Detroit. Harper’s high performance was also noted in specialty categories including COPD, Gastroenterology & GI Surgery, Heart Failure, Orthopedics, Pulmonology and Urology.

Sinai-Grace Hospital, located in the northwest area of Detroit, improved its state and metro Detroit rankings and was designated as a high performing hospital in specialty categories including COPD, Heart Failure and Neurology & Neurosurgery while Huron Valley, located in Commerce Charter Township, earned high performance ranking in the area of Heart Failure.
