A lung cancer diagnosis is emotional and frightening for patients and their families. The first step for many patients is to find their physician care team to develop a treatment plan. Many patients turn to the Charach Cancer Treatment Center at DMC Huron Valley Sinai-Hospital in Commerce Township.
Marie S. visited urgent care after she thought her runny nose was due to a sinus infection. When her symptoms persisted, she saw her primary care physician and had a
chest CT which showed a mass in her upper lobe. She began chemotherapy and radiation at the Charach Cancer Treatment Center in March 2022.
From screenings through treatment and survivorship, the comprehensive cancer program at Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital consistently ranks among the nation's top-rated cancer centers regarding patient experience. In a 2021 survey, the Charach Cancer Treatment Center team was among the top 15% nationally in overall patient experience scores compared to more than 1,500 facilities.

Beyond surgery, chemotherapy and radiation, DMC Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital also offers oncology-related rehabilitation services, nurse navigation, social work, nutrition counseling, cancer support groups and survivorship programs.
