Craig Deleon, Corporate Director, Health, Fitness & Wellness
Craig is the DMC Fitness Center manager, located at DMC Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Fitness Management from Northern Michigan University attending on an athletic scholarship. Craig has worked for Chrysler LLC, Ford Motor Company, and General Motors in corporate fitness and wellness. Craig has assisted with the startup and design of corporate fitness centers and specializes in wellness program design, development, and implementation.
Mary Thompson, Fitness Sports Enhancement Center Representative
Mary is our lead resource for the fitness center, in which she promotes sales, coordinates various fitness events, handles marketing and financial duties, and assists customers with questions and concerns. She has an Associate’s Degree in Science and Business from HFCC, with a special concentration in Sports Management and Fitness Leadership. She is a certified BLS instructor and is a part of several prominent committees here at the Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan. She is also the administrative resource person for the Sports Performance Academy, located at three of our outpatient sites throughout metro Detroit. She is committed to providing excellent customer service and an exceptional fitness experience for our patients, members, and the community.
Samuel Felix, Trainer
Sam received his Bachelor's Degree from Wayne State University in Exercise and Sports Science. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA. Sam is also a Registered Yoga Teacher (i.e., RYT200hr). Sam completed Internships with the Strength and Conditioning Department at Wayne State University and Mike Barwis, the former Director of Strength and Conditioning at the University of Michigan, at his sports performance facility. Along with Sam's sports performance background, Sam has worked as a personal trainer all over the area, including the Detroit Athletic Club. Sam coaches soccer and basketball at Cranbrook Kingswood in both the upper school and middle school.
Michelle Fresch, Rehab Trainer
Michelle obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Wellness, Health Promotion, and Injury Prevention with a focus in Exercise Science from Oakland University. She completed an internship at the DMC with the Fitness Center’s Rehab Trainers before starting a position as a Fitness Center Associate. She is excited to have been recently promoted to her new position as Rehab Trainer. Michelle is a Certified Wellness Practitioner through the National Wellness Institute (NWI) and a Certified Group Exercise Instructor through AFAA. She is also a Certified Personal Trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). She looks forward to helping members and working with others during group exercises classes and personal training.
Alyssa attended Wayne State University where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise and Sport Science. She completed her internship at the DMC Fitness Center with the Rehab Trainers. Alyssa is certified in Group Exercise Instruction through AFAA, and is in the process of getting certified through American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) as a Certified Exercise Physiologist. She enjoys teaching exercise classes, and looks forward to working with others to help achieve their health and fitness goals.
