Harris Birthing Center

Providing every mother with skilled, knowledgeable treatment and delivery in a beautiful environment combining comfort with advanced capabilities, the Harris Birthing Center at DMC Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital has earned a reputation as one of the area’s best obstetrics programs. Widely regarded for our highly trained staff and our extensive capabilities, we’re also favored by mothers for our personal approach.

It’s easy to see why so many mothers choose DMC Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital as the place to have their babies. The accommodations and amenities of our beautiful birthing center, in conjunction with our medical team expertise, are what set us apart from other area hospitals. Our private, single-room accommodations were designed to make mothers and their families feel right at home, providing a soothing, nurturing environment for bringing a baby into the world.

What’s more, our comfortable rooms include many special amenities that mothers and their families have asked for, including pull-out sofa beds for fathers, in-room refrigerators, large flat screen televisions and internet access.

Prior to birth we offer a variety of Family Life Education classes. From first time parents to parents with multiple children, our classes help you prepare for a new baby. Your entire family is important, and our team provides many classes that can help all members of your family. For questions regarding classes, contact Cindy Willer at (248) 937-3619 or click here to register.

Once your bundle of joy has arrived, we encourage our mothers to breastfeed. Breastfeeding provides many important nutrients to your newborn, and can save you lots of money when it comes to buying formula. While breastfeeding may be "natural", it is not always easy. To make things easier on mom and baby, we offer a Breastfeeding Class, which describes benefits, positioning and latch, answers common questions and concerns, shares community resources, and teaches basics of breastpumps and milk storage. We welcome father’s interested in attending; their support is helpful for new moms.

In some cases your baby may be born with complications, or may need specialized pediatric care soon after birth.
