New Designated Institutional Officer at the Detroit Medical Center

Jarrett Weinberger, M.D. has been appointed as the new Designated Institutional Officer at the Detroit Medical Center.

The DIO works in collaboration with the Graduate Medical Education Committee to oversee all Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education-accredited programs within the Detroit Medical Center.

Dr. Weinberger, who specializes in internal medicine, joined the DMC in 2009. He is an Associate Clinical Professor with the Wayne State University School of Medicine (WSUSOM) in the Department of Internal Medicine, and Program Director of the DMC / WSUSOM Internal Medicine Residency Program. His clinical and educational interests include high value health care, and clinical reasoning. In his outpatient practice, his focus is on providing primary care to those who are HIV positive.

In his new position, Dr. Weinberger will play a key role in helping to ensure our Graduate Medical Education Program will continue its long and rich history of providing comprehensive and rigorous training in medical education as it has done for more than 100 years.

Dr. Weinberger earned his bachelor of science in Biological Sciences from Michigan Technological University, and his medical degree from the Wayne State University School of Medicine. He completed his residency at the DMC / WSUSOM Internal Medicine program.
