April 14, 2014- National Healthcare Decisions Day Expo at DMC Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital
From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Orchard lobby of the hospital, located at 1 William Carls Drive in Commerce, community members are invited to learn about planning for future health care decisions. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about available resources, advance directives, elder care nursing and palliative care. Representatives from Sanctuary Hospice of Michigan, Area Agency on Aging 1B and hospital physicians will be on hand to answer questions. There will also be an “Ask the Attorney” and homecare resources available.
DMC Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital (HVSH) is hosting an event in honor of National Healthcare Decisions Day on Wednesday, April 16.
National Healthcare Decisions Day exists to inspire, educate and empower the public & providers about the importance of advance care planning. National Healthcare Decisions Day is an initiative to encourage patients to express their wishes regarding healthcare and for providers and facilities to respect those wishes, whatever they may be.
