The academic year is divided into 12 one-month-long rotations.  Resident physicians will complete core and elective rotations during the 3-year program.  Resident rotation schedules may vary for a given year, but each PGY will complete the same number of required rotations.  The PGY3 class has 1 elective and the PGY4 class has 2 electives depending on their pursuance of a fellowship.  Electives are scheduled at a time that will be advantageous for those wishing to rotate in their chosen specialty for fellowship.

Rotators are provided these packets of information PMR Educational Packet.  The attending physician provides oversight of rotating medical students with PM&R residents assuming an active role as well.

Prosthetics and Orthotics Workshop

Residents visit local prosthetics companies on a yearly basis for observation of the manufacturing and fitting of these devices led by Wright & Filippis

MSK Ultrasound Workshops

Hands-on experience in MSK ultrasound with attending oversight and small group teaching

Broad lecture series from guest speakers and department faculty

Journal Club

Discussion of relevant PM&R articles led by a PGY resident with faculty mentorship and guidance
