Applying to Residency

  • The DMC Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency Program offers a three-year residency training experience for PGY II-IV.
  • Acceptance of a PGY II position requires completion of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) accredited transition year or preliminary internal medicine or surgery, or equivalent experience in family medicine, emergency medicine, pediatrics, or surgery.
  • Applications are accepted via Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) and 4 positions are available annually through the National Residency Match Program (NRMP)
  • Documentation for Application:
    • Three letters of recommendations including one from a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Physician
    • Personal Statement
    • MSPE Dean’s Letter and Medical School Transcript
    • USMLE or COMLEX Step I and Step II scores; we expect applicants to complete USMLE Step 3 or COMLEX III by the end of PGY I before starting PGY II with our program
