Resident Council

The purpose of the Detroit Medical Center (DMC) Resident Council is to serve as an advocate and voice for interns, residents, and fellows throughout their training. In doing so, specific, though not all inclusive, objectives include promoting resident and fellow well-being, educating residents and fellows of issues affecting them, promoting improvements of the resident and fellow clinical learning environment, to represent the interest of its members in deliberations with affiliated hospitals on issues regarding working conditions and benefits, and to encourage active membership and participation in constituent societies of organized medicine.

The DMC Resident Council meets once per month. In advance of the meeting, the council confers with hospital leadership and DMC GME as needed.
