Open enrollment beginning on November 1, 2016 and running through January 31, 2017

There’s good news for all of us who want better healthcare in Southeast Michigan. The Affordable Care Act has come to Michigan, and open enrollment in the various healthcare plans provided under ACA is now underway. Thousands of Michiganders are now signing up for new healthcare coverage for themselves and their loved ones. And that’s where DMC comes in. For more than 150 years, DMC has provided world-class healthcare to Michigan residents. As health insurance becomes available to thousands who’ve never had it before – whether through Medicaid, Medicare or private healthcare plans –we’re making the application process (along with financial assistance now being provided for those who need help paying for coverage) as easy and fast as possible.

“Why do I need healthcare?”
Buying health insurance is no small decision. If you haven’t had insurance before, it may be hard to understand what you need, or, more importantly, why you need it. The new health insurance marketplace provides options that will give you affordable care with great doctors and services.

Being Healthy and Happy.
All health insurance plans include check-ups, screenings and regular exams – from flu shots to mammograms. It’s a lot easier to be healthy, than to try and get healthy. Staying healthy also means less sick days at work.

You Never Know What May Happen.
Unexpected injuries or illnesses can set your family back, including expensive prescriptions. Insurance will help pay bills and save you from going into debt.

Peace of Mind.
If you’ve lived without insurance before, you know it can be stressful. You worry about getting sick or an injury to you or your family. Getting insurance can put those fears to rest and let you enjoy the activities you love most.

Everyone Needs It.
After January 1, 2014, everyone will need to enroll in some type of health insurance. If you don’t have it at work or through a spouse’s company, then you will need to enroll.

“What about the cost?”
If you are worried about the cost of health insurance, there is lots of help. It is designed so the more help you need, the more help you can get. You could pay as little as 25% of the monthly premium or bill. Most importantly, you aren’t alone. You probably know a friend, family member or coworker asking the same questions, so don’t be afraid to ask us. We’ll help you find the answers and a path to health.
