DMC Hospital Visiting Hours
DMC Children's Hospital of MichiganVisiting hours are from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.
2 person limit
Superhero Family Pass
You decide which 2 adults will get a Superhero Family Pass. People wearing this pass are not “visitors”, they are important members of your child’s health care team. This pass allows you to go right to your child’s room; our staff and security will know that you are a “Superhero Family”.
You are welcome to come 24 hours a day, every day; we have room for one parent to sleep in their child’s room overnight. Other visitors will be asked to visit between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Two visitors are welcome at a time.
In the NICU and ICU visiting hours are between the hours of 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. Parents and visitors are welcome in the family center at all times. Up to two people are welcome to be in the child’s room at the same time.
Visits in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
Children in the PICU are very sick, therefore visiting is different here. Only two people – including parents – may visit at one time. Siblings at least two years old may visit; talk with your child’s nurse and child life specialist to arrange this. This rule protects both the patients and their younger visitors. Parents and visitors may also be asked to step out during special procedures and emergencies. All visitors (including parents) must stop in the Hospitality Center before entering the PICU. Please use the phone to dial into the unit to identify yourself and your relationship to the patient. You will then be told when you are able to enter the unit.
Visits in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
Visits are allowed in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) all day. Parents and visitors may be asked to step out of the NICU during special procedures and emergencies.
