Sandy was enjoying a 60-mile bike ride with friends when he suddenly collided with another rider and hit the pavement. Sandy was rushed to a nearby hospital and diagnosed with a brain injury, broken right shoulder and ribs. DMC Rehabilitation Institute
of Michigan's dedicated team of doctors, nurses and therapists specializing in brain injury rehabilitation helped Sandy relearn how to walk, talk and improve his cognitive skills. Today, Sandy is able to ride a three-wheel cycle and has returned to
his job as a college campus police officer.
