Pediatric Care

Delivering pediatric care close to home.

Pediatric CareDMC’s Children’s Hospital of Michigan offers eight different locations for delivering the specialty care sick kids may need closer to home. From locations in Canton, Dearborn and Clinton Township to Detroit, Southfield, Novi, and our latest addition which opened in February 2016--the Children’s Hospital of Michigan –Troy, we remain committed to bringing outpatient pediatric care to communities throughout Southeast Michigan. The ongoing work of our dedicated staff has meant life saving care for patients like Sophia. At age four, the little girl who loved dance class developed Acute Disseminated Encephalomyelitis (ADEM), with ensuing inflammation of the brain and spinal cord. Dr. Mitchell T. Williams, neurologist and ADEM specialist, and Dr. Charles Pelshaw, a physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist, led two teams of experts in a months-long battle to save Sophia. Restored to full health, Sophia was able to attend her dance recital. With more than 40 pediatric specialty services, the Children’s Hospital of Michigan repeatedly earns “Best Pediatric Hospital” recognition from US News & World Report.
