Detroit Medical Center Wound Care is dedicated to and focused on the treatment of patients with chronic wounds resulting from a variety of causes, including diabetes and vascular disease. The center offers a unique, integrated approach with medical, surgical and vascular options, depending on each unique case.
Why Wound Care?
While most wounds heal quickly, there are specific types of wounds that cause severe problems if left untreated. Current studies show that nearly five million Americans suffer with chronic wounds that don't heal or fail to improve within four weeks. Three main factors for non-healing wounds include: diabetes, poor circulation and limited mobility.
