Sinai-Grace Hospital is a non-profit hospital and is the largest hospital in the Detroit Medical Center, one of the largest consortia of health care systems in the United States. Sinai-Grace Hospital is an award-winning, 404-bed hospital with 700 physicians, 670 nurses, and more than 1,800 support staff. Every year, Sinai-Grace Hospital cares for more than 214,000 patients, nearly 60,000 of whom are uninsured or on Medicaid. Sinai-Grace Hospital’s Emergency Department is one of the busiest in Detroit, serving more than 87,000 patients in 2007. Sinai-Grace Hospital also is a well-respected academic training site for more than 200 medical students and resident physicians each year.

Recognized by U.S. Health and Human Services, Sinai-Grace Hospital was ranked in the top 1% of all U.S. hospitals for better than national averages for heart-failure recovery rates. Center for Medicare Services reports reveal 91% of all the Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI) patients treated at Sinai-Grace Hospital received all of the National Core Measures. In addition to these achievements, Sinai-Grace Hospital was named one of the top stroke centers in the country by U.S. News and World Report (2007) and Sinai-Grace Hospital was named as the Best Hospital for Trauma and Accident Care by HOUR Detroit Magazine.
