The Detroit Medical Center (DMC) Harper-Hutzel Hospital is having its annual Stroller Cruise on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The Stroller Cruise contest is for all Harper-Hutzel employees and each unit will decorate a baby stroller or car seat with donated baby items such as baby bottles, disposable diapers, wipes, clothing items, etc. The car seat or stroller, serving as the base of the gift will creatively have all donated items attached to it so the hospital can host it’s own ‘Dream Cruise’ event. All entries and items will go to the future newborns of underprivileged families delivered at Hutzel Women’s Hospital.
"The 2014 Harper-Hutzel Stroller Cruise is an initiative that captures the essence of the Woodward Dream Cruise while satisfying a community need,” said Reginald J Eadie, MD, MBA, CEO of DMC Harper-Hutzel Hospital. “It is another example of how the DMC is supporting the community we serve beyond the delivery of quality health care with additional service projects and initiatives."
This is Harper-Hutzel Hospital’s third year doing the Stroller Cruise. This event is done once a year while the items are collected throughout the year. Hundreds of items are collected every year.
