Each neurology case is unique and we treat each patient based on his or her individual concerns and symptoms. Depending on the situation, the neurology team calls on specialists from a wide variety of disciplines to provide the right care at the right time for you or your family member.

Neurological clinicians and researchers at Detroit Receiving Hospital, Harper University Hospital, Sinai-Grace Hospital, Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital, and Wayne State University are making important strides in the treatment and management of neurological diseases and disorders. We are proud to offer exceptional patient care and groundbreaking research with our physician specialists and clinical teams.

What Is Neurology?

Neurology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the nervous system. Physicians specializing in the field of neurology are called neurologists and are trained to diagnose, treat and manage patients with neurological disorders, as well as some conditions in the musculoskeletal system.

Neurologists are usually certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. A neurologist that treats children needs additional training in pediatrics and the neurological diseases of children.
