New: Open-Bore MRI at DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital The first Open-Bore MIR in Detroit is located at DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital. This special equipment is perfect for all patients, including those with claustrophobia and obesity. It accommodates patients up to 500 lbs., and features one foot of headroom. Sixty percent of exams can be done with the patient’s head outside the system. Appointments are available within 72 hours; emergent cases can be seen the same day. That’s why DMC guarantees a scheduled MRI, CT Scan or ultrasound appointment in 72 hours with a referral or authorization during off-peak times (7 p.m. – 5 a.m.) or in seven to 10 days during peak times (5 a.m. – 7 p.m.)

Your test results are read by a team of academic, board-certified radiologists providing sub-specialty readings. DMC Advanced MRI locations accept most major medical insurance plans, and DMC will work with your doctor regardless of your privilege status, to assure timely access to your results and films.
