DMC offers a full spectrum of outpatient mental health services for adults and children, including individual psychotherapy, family therapy, group therapy, medication evaluation and consultation.



Crisis Center/Intake and Emergency Program
The DMC Sinai-Grace Crisis Center at DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital is an emergency mental health walk-in clinic, which opened in response to the community’s need of a program for people in an emotional or mental health crisis.

 

The Crisis Center provides:

  • Mental Health Crisis assessment, screening, treatment and referral Brief follow-up to reassess or resolve an emergency, especially when awaiting other treatment services
  • Transfer and/or referral for services not available on site
  • Intake for patients entering other psychiatric service areas of Sinai-Grace Hospital Our expert mental health staff includes a board-certified psychiatrist, psychiatric nurses, social workers and a clinical manager.

The Crisis Center is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. Please arrive before 3:30 p.m. After-hours and weekend therapist and physician services can be accessed through Sinai-Grace Hospital
’s Emergency Department.

Sinai-Grace Ardmore Clinic
Outpatient mental health treatment services at Ardmore Clinic include multidisciplinary evaluation and diagnosis, individual and family therapy, occupational therapy groups, medication management, and case management. Our staff includes psychiatrists, residents, social workers, clinical nurse specialists/nurse practitioners and a social work case manager. All staff are fully licensed, credentialed and meet annual competency standards.

DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital provides a continuum of psychiatric services including traditional outpatient services, a crisis center and an inpatient unit. The Department of Psychiatry addresses the health needs of emotionally or mentally ill adults through individualized services.
 
Inpatient Psychiatric Unit
The Inpatient Psychiatric Unit, a 21-bed acute stay unit, provides voluntary and involuntary hospitalization. The goal of the unit is to resolve acute psychiatric problems that impact functioning and/or restore persons to their previous level of functioning as quickly as possible. Treatment plans include active involvement of patients and their families. Discharge plans may include involvement in numerous outpatient programs to facilitate recovery when needed. Our multidisciplinary team consists of psychiatrists, psychiatric residents, registered nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, mental health associates, clinical nurse specialists, care managers, consultants, recipient rights advisors, and students from various healthcare disciplines.

Appointment Scheduling
Most new patients are first seen in our Crisis Center/Intake and Emergency Program; some insurance companies require separate arrangements. Call the appointment desk for more information. Established patients receive an appointment reminder phone call. Please maintain a current phone number with us. If you cannot keep your scheduled time, contact the appointment desk in advance of your missed appointment to reschedule.

Madison Behavioral Health Services at DMC Surgery Hospital

Madison Behavioral Health Services provides care, diagnosis and therapeutic services for adult men and women eighteen years of age and older. We admit both Voluntary (formal) and Involuntary Patients. Services are available seven days a week, 24 hours a day.

The clinical team includes: psychiatrists, internists, psychiatric nurses, clinical social workers, therapeutic recreation specialists and psychologists. The team members provide an array of therapeutic modalities and activities for patients in group or individual settings:

  • Group Psychotherapy

  • Individual Psychotherapy/Counseling

  • Pharamcological/Medication Management

  • Conjoint/Family Therapy

  • Ongoing Education Sessions

Pediatric Psychiatry/Psychology/Mental Health

Specialists in psychiatry/psychology at DMC Children's of Michigan provide a variety of consultative and treatment services for preschoolers, children, and adolescents. The department focuses on specialty services designed to address many of the emotional and behavioral needs of the medically ill patients who are seen at the Children's of Michigan. Faculty from Wayne State University, clinical staff, and trainees see patients in select outpatient clinics, in consultation to the pediatric units and emergency department, and for specialized treatment services.

 

Complete diagnostic and consultation services are available for:

  • Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) Evaluation
  • Autism Evaluation
  • Neuropsychological Evaluation

Treatment services are offered to chronically medically ill children and adolescents through individual, family and play therapy.
