The only freestanding hospital in Michigan dedicated exclusively to caring for children, Children's Hospital of Michigan has been devoted to children's health care since its founding in 1886.

Pediatrics Photo Staffed by more than 200 pediatricians, 125 pediatric specialists, 600 pediatric nurses and over one thousand pediatric-trained employees, more Michigan pediatricians are trained at Children's Hospital than at any other hospital in the state.

Children's is specifically designed to cater to pediatric patients, from our kid-friendly emergency room that treats more than 60,000 children each year, to our newly remodeled patient rooms that have areas for parents to rest comfortably in with their child. With playrooms, activity centers, computer labs, and classrooms on every floor, our facility makes a child's temporary transition from home to hospital easy with our remarkable attention to detail.

From specialty clinics and immunizations to baby sitting classes, car seat safety checks and other safety and prevention education, Children's Hospital of Michigan's commitment to children goes beyond the doors of our hospital and spans the entire state of Michigan, from the Upper Peninsula to your child's school.

Children's Hospital is the lead agency for the Metro Detroit Safe Kids Coalition, a grass roots organization dedicated to eliminating preventable injuries.

Our Regional Poison Control Center is one of two centers in the state focused on poison prevention, education, triage and treatment.

Children's Pediatric Mobile Team and School Mobile Health Center travel to sites across Southeastern Michigan and provide on-site medical care to children and families.
