As part of its commitment to community members of all ages, Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital provides a continuum of outpatient and inpatient pediatric care, including outreach programs to promote the health and safety of children. Educational programs range from classes for new parents to "Sitter" classes which teach young people safe childcare techniques when babysitting.

PEDIATRIC EMERGENCY SERVICES

Pediatric outpatient care is provided in the Emergency Department, where children comprise almost 30 percent of the patients. Frequent diagnoses for pediatric patients include asthma, viruses and fractures from accidents.

DIAGNOSTIC SERVICES

Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital’s Laboratory, Radiology and Cardiopulmonary Departments all provide testing for pediatric patients, offering convenience to parents and their children.

SURGICAL SERVICES

Outpatient surgery is available to pediatric as well as adult patients at Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital and the hospital’s new Surgical Center provides privacy and comfort for patients and their families.

INPATIENT PEDIATRIC UNIT

If hospitalization is required, an inpatient unit with specially trained pediatric nurses and a board-certified pediatrician cares for children from birth through age 17. The nursing staff on this unit have Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.

COMPLETE CARE NURSERY

The hospital’s Complete Care Nursery, located in the Merle and Shirley Harris Birthing Center, cares for newborns who need extra monitoring or care. A neonatologist is available 24-hours a day and the nursing staff is trained in neonatology.
