Women today have a wide variety of highly effective, long-term and permanent birth control options. But don’t forget about permanent birth control for men.
“When women come to me for permanent birth control, I always tell them to talk to their partner about a vasectomy,” said Chitranjan Lall, M.D., Hutzel Women’s Hospital and Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Wayne State University School of Medicine.
Still, many men are hesitant to get a vasectomy. That often leaves long-term birth control up to women. When it comes to long-term birth control, a woman’s options
are categorized as either “long term” or “permanent.”
