Hospital Presidents


Reginald J. Eadie, M.D. was named President of DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital in January 2012. Dr. Eadie joined the DMC in April 2008 as Vice President of Medical Affairs (VPMA) at DMC Harper University Hospital and DMC Hutzel Women’s Hospital. In July 2010, Eadie was appointed as President of Detroit Receiving Hospital. His position prior to joining Harper-Hutzel was Emergency Department Chief and Associate Chief of Staff of Integrated Clinical Services at the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center in Detroit. A native Detroiter, Dr. Eadie is a graduate of Wayne State University (WSU) School of Medicine and completed his Emergency Medicine Residency at WSU/Detroit Receiving Hospital in 1998. He is a diplomat of the American board of Emergency Medicine and a member of the American College of Health Care Executives.
   
  Herman B. Gray, M.D. was named President of Children’s Hospital of Michigan in August 2005. Gray, a pediatrician and child and family advocate, has a long history with Children’s Hospital of Michigan. He has held several positions including pediatric vice chief for education and pediatric residency program director, chief of staff and chief operating officer. Gray also served as vice president for graduate medical education at the DMC and associate dean for graduate medical education at Wayne State University School of Medicine. He continues to serve as a clinical associate professor in pediatrics. Gray earned his medical degree from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor and holds a physician executive master’s degree in business administration from the University of Tennessee.
   

Iris Taylor, Ph.D., R.N. in January 2012, Taylor returned to the presidency of DMC Detroit Receiving Hospital, a position she left in 2010 to serve as DMC's Chief Business Officer. With more than 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry, Dr. Taylor has learned the business of the DMC by rising through the ranks in clinical and administrative positions. She began in 1975 at Detroit Receiving Hospital and University Health Center as Head Staff Nurse, then from Assistant Director to Director and later Vice-President of DRH/UHC Nursing Services. From 1999 to 2004, Dr. Taylor's role was expanded to DMC Chief Nursing Officer/Senior Vice President, Patient Care. She was president of Harper University/Hutzel Women's Hospitals, from 2002 to 2004.  Her first tenure as president of Detroit Receiving Hospital/University Health Center was 2004-2010. In this role, Dr. Taylor managed the hospital with the state's busiest emergency department and expanded the hospital's service lines beyond emergency care to geriatrics, urology, neurosurgery, palliative care and other specialties. Dr. Taylor earned her bachelor's and master's degrees in nursing, as well as her doctorate of philosophy from Wayne State University and is an adjunct professor at WSU College of Nursing and School of Nursing.

   
William H. Restum, PhD was named President of Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan in July 2008. Restum comes to RIM with over 35 years of experience in the field of rehabilitation. Restum previously served as RIM’s Director for Strategic Initiatives. His former positions include Vice-President, Clinical Programs, Sinai Hospital; Vice-President Clinical & Ambulatory Services, Northwest Region, Detroit Medical Center; President and CEO, Great Lakes Rehab Hospital in Southfield; and Chief Executive Officer, Health Care Partners, Inc. Restum has a doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology from Wayne State University, and obtained his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Western Michigan University. 
   
Theodore L. Schreiber, M.D., F.A.C.C., was named President of DMC Cardiovascular Institute in 2009. Prior to this, he was Vice President of DMC Cardiovascular Development. He is Specialist-in-Chief of Cardiovascular Medicine at DMC, Director of Cardio Team One, a 24/7/365 cardiac care initiative he designed and implemented in 2008, Division Chief of Clinical Cardiology and Director of the interventional cardiology fellowship program at DMC Harper University Hospital. Schreiber earned his M.D. from Cornell University Medical College, and holds fellowships in Cardiology, Coronary Care, Interventional Cardiology and Peripheral Intervention. One of the first U.S. doctors to offer minimally invasive treatment option for stroke prevention in carotid artery disease patients, he has performed over 20,000 coronary interventions. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology. 
 
   

Lynn M. Torossian was named President of Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital in May 2008. Torossian has been with the hospital since 2006 as chief operations officer (COO) and vice president of operations where she has been responsible for recent campus expansion projects, forging strong relationships with the medical staff and taking a visible role in the community. She is a business administration graduate of Eastern Michigan University and is a certified public accountant. Torossian is active in the Michigan Healthcare Executive Group and Associates and the American College of Healthcare Executives, and was recently appointed to the Huron Valley Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
