DMC Harper University Hospital’s Diabetes Education’s Mission:

Our mission is to provide quality and comprehensive diabetes self-management education. We believe that education is the key to empowering the person with diabetes to better manage his or her health, reduce or avoid complications and achieve optimum health. We believe in providing people with the knowledge and skills they need to make informed decisions about health related behaviors.

The Diabetes Education program at Harper University Hospital is recognized by the American Diabetes Association and certified by the Michigan Department of Community Health (MDCH). Most staff members are certified diabetes educators.
