Future Residents

We are pleased that you are interested in residency/fellowship programs at Detroit Medical Center (DMC).

In order to be eligible to enter one of our programs, you must meet the minimum selection criteria described in our policy on resident/fellow eligibility and selection located in our GME Resident Policy Manual. Recruitment is coordinated by each individual program. For a list of programs see our training programs page.

Individuals applying for any of our programs must hold an appropriate degree for the program to which they apply. If you hold a foreign medical degree, a valid certificate from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) is also required. In addition to these institutional requirements, each program has specific eligibility requirements that must be satisfied.

Applicants for employment as a DMC resident/fellow must successfully pass reference and background screenings as a condition of employment. Although most program applications are made through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS), some programs accept applications directly, or through the San Francisco Match. Check individual programs for specific application guidelines.
