U.S. News & World Report “America’s Best Hospitals”

Detroit Medical Center has more hospitals and more High-Performing Specialties than any other Metro Detroit hospital in U.S. News and World Report’s Best Hospitals Metro Area Rankings

Detroit Medical Center (DMC) has four top ten hospitals and 29 High-Performing Specialties listed in U.S. News & World Report's first-ever Best Hospitals Metro Area Rankings. The four ranked hospitals are DMC Detroit Receiving Hospital, DMC Harper University Hospital, DMC Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital and DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital.

To be ranked in its metro area, a hospital had to score in the top 25 percent among its peers in at least one of 16 medical specialties.

“All of these hospitals provide first-rate care for the majority of patients, even those with serious conditions or who need demanding procedures,” says Health Rankings Editor Avery Comarow. “The new Best Hospitals metro rankings can tell you which hospitals are worth considering for most medical problems if you live in or near a major metro area.”

Top Level Trauma Care

Three of the four top-level trauma centers in Wayne County are DMC hospitals: DMC Detroit Receiving Hospital (Level I), DMC Children’s Hospital of Michigan (Level I – Pediatrics) and DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital (Level II). Receiving is also home to the annual Detroit Trauma Symposium.
