Premier Healthcare Alliance Supply Chain Excellence Award
For the second year in a row, Detroit Medical Center (DMC) and several of its hospitals have received national honors for the cost effectiveness of the care provided to patients. The Supply Chain Excellence Awards are presented by Premier healthcare alliance, a performance improvement alliance of more than 2,300 U.S. hospitals and more than 67,000 other healthcare sites working to achieve high-quality, cost-effective care.
Out of 2,300 Premier member hospitals, only 27 awards were given this year, and DMC received five of those. The five Supply Chain Excellence awards went to Detroit Medical Center, DMC Detroit Receiving Hospital, DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital and DMC Hutzel Women’s Hospital. Hutzel also won a “Most Improved” award in the category.
