Day 28: Heart Benefits to Exercise

Craig Deleon: Building A Better Heart from Detroit Medical Center on Vimeo.

Exercise is a lot more than an energy booster and a stress reliever. It also strengthens your heart muscle, lowers your blood pressure and cholesterol, burns calories and reduces your risk of developing diabetes and heart disease.

Regular exercise has many benefits. It can:
  • Raise your good cholesterol.
  • Help lower your bad cholesterol.
  • Reduce your risk of developing heart disease.
  • Let blood flow better through your body.
  • Give more oxygen to your muscles and tissues.
  • Help you manage your weight.

If you haven't been exercising regularly, always talk with your doctor before beginning.
