Breast Augmentation, Reduction or Lift: A surgical procedure that enhances the size and shape of the breast for personal reasons. It can also be used to balance a difference in breast size, reconstruct a breast following surgery or correct deformities.

Endoscopic Brow Lift:
Uses a less-invasive technique than traditional brow lifts to create a more-youthful appearance. An endoscope, or flexible tube, is used during surgery, allowing smaller incisions and faster healing. It is especially helpful for patients with insufficient hair to conceal scarring. Because this procedure requires such small incisions, side effects are reduced.

Eyelid Surgery:
Called blepharoplasty, this procedure removes fat and excess skin and muscle from the upper and lower eyelids. It can correct drooping upper lids and puffy bags below the eyes that make you look older and may even interfere with your vision. However, it won’t remove crow’s feet or other wrinkles, eliminate dark circles or lift sagging eyebrows. Eyelid surgery can be done alone or in conjunction with other facial surgery procedures, such as facelift or browlift.

Nose Surgery:
Also called rhinoplasty, nasal surgery may be performed for cosmetic purposes or to improve both form and function. It can alleviate nasal breathing problems or correct deformities from birth or injury.

Face or Neck Lift:
As people age, the effects of gravity, sun exposure and stress can be seen in their faces. Deep creases form between the nose and mouth, the jaw line grows slack and jowly and folds and fat deposits appear around the neck. A facelift can turn back the clock, improving the most visible signs of aging. It can remove excess fat, tighten muscles and re-drape the skin. A facelift can be done alone or with other procedures, such as a forehead lift, eyelid surgery or nose reshaping.

Ultrasound-Assisted Liposuction (UAL): Combines new patented technology with advanced surgical techniques to sculpt the body and remove unwanted fat deposits. UAL uses ultrasound energy to break up and emulsify fat, leaving surrounding nerves, blood vessels and tissue relatively intact. Patients report minimal pain and bruising. Because of the technology used, physicians can work with such precision that they can shape delicate areas like the inner thighs, arms, chin and neck.

Vaser®-Assisted High-Definition Liposculpturing (VAHDL): For patients who already have a high degree of fitness, but want a more chiseled, athletic look. DMC Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery Specialist Dr. Bruce Chau is one of only five surgeons in the country trained to perform VAHDL. The procedure uses the Vaser® ultrasound-assisted liposuction equipment, which has been a breakthrough in liposuction because it liquefies the fat, yet doesn't damage the nerves, connective tissue or blood vessels. Dr. Chau has used the Vaser® equipment for two years and has performed liposuction for more than 15 years.

“The VAHDL gives patients a more chiseled, athletic look by enhancing the visibility of well-toned muscles,” Dr. Chau says. “VAHDL isn't for everyone, but is best suited to highly motivated people who have some degree of fitness already. Men are especially interested in this procedure to get ‘six-pack abs.’"

Tummy Tuck: Suitable for both men and women, a tummy tuck flattens the abdomen by removing extra fat and skin and tightening muscles in the abdominal wall. The best candidates are those who are in relatively good shape but are bothered by a large fat deposit or loose abdominal skin that won’t respond to diet or exercise. The surgery is particularly helpful to women, because of multiple pregnancies, whose abdominal muscles and skin can’t return to normal shape. Loss of skin elasticity in older patients, which frequently occurs with slight obesity, can also be improved.

Nonsurgical Cosmetic Prcedures
The DMC offers a complete range of nonsurgical cosmetic procedures to help you look and feel your best:
  • BOTOX® Cosmetic
  • Chemical peel
  • Dermal fillers
  • Microdermabrasion
  • Contour thread lift
BOTOX® Cosmetic: Gives skin a more youthful appearance by temporarily relaxing and minimizing frown lines, forehead creases and crow’s feet near the eyes. This treatment is quick and convenient and takes only a few tiny injections. You will see noticeable improvement in moderate to severe lines within days. Results typically last three to four months.

Chemical Peel: Uses a high concentration of glycolic acid to reduce problems of acne-prone skin, acne scars, dry and oily skin, sun-damaged skin, age spots, pigment irregularities and fine wrinkles. A series of peels, given over weeks or months, along with a daily skin care regimen, will slough away the top layer of dead skin cells to reveal softer, smoother skin. Glycolic acid can be used safely on practically all skin types.

Dermal Fillers: Most commonly done with injectable hylauronic acids or collagen, these facial fillers can fill in lines and creases and temporarily restore a smoother, more youthful appearance. These fillers can also add fullness to the lips.

Microdermabrasion: A mechanical process that gently abrades or polishes the skin. Skin is refreshed, reducing fine lines, crow’s feet, age spots and acne scars. It also stimulates the production of skin cells and collagen. Best results require five to 12 treatments spaced two to three weeks apart. Use of a light chemical peel will increase the effect. Maintenance of results requires periodic repeat treatments.

Contour Thread Lift: DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital is one of only a few hospitals in the country certified to offer this new nonsurgical procedure. Threads are used to lift and redistribute facial skin. The method is ideal for people who want to improve their faces without having a full facelift. The procedure can be done with local anesthetic and can be adjusted based on the patient’s preference. Ideal for patients who are just beginning to see facial aging or who are uncomfortable with general anesthesia. This minimally invasive procedure offers patients the ability to make subtle improvements at the first signs of aging rather than waiting until more drastic measures are needed.
