Berk will lead the hospital’s medical staff. Berk earned his undergraduate degree from Columbia College, New York, New York, and his medical degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He did postdoctoral training and his medical residency at the University of Michigan Hospitals in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Berk has served as vice-chief of staff at Receiving Hospital since November 2005 and as vice-chief of the hospital’s emergency department since March 2000. He has also been a member of the Medical Executive Committee of the Detroit Medical Center since November 2005 and the information systems coordinator for all Detroit Medical Center emergency departments since July 2005.
