DMC Children's Hospital of Michigan's pediatric orthopaedic staff specializes in the treatment of spinal deformities and possesses more than 50 years of combined experience. Their ability to treat anteriorly and posteriorly with multiple methods that allow for growth applies to all types of spinal deformity, including congenital, infantile, juvenile, and adolescent scoliosis and kyphosis. PEDIATRIC PHYSICAL THERAPY AND REHABILITATION
DMC Children's Hospital of Michigan's highly-trained pediatric rehabilitation therapists (physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech/language pathology) are located strategically throughout southeast Michigan, specializing in the treatment of children (infancy through adolescence.) DMC Children's Hospital of Michigan therapists are trained in a variety of treatment techniques for back pain, injuries, and/or disorders of the spine and spinal cord, including:
Functional training
Soft tissue mobilization
Joint mobilization
Functional massage
Spine stabilization exercises
Pool therapy (Novi & Westland locations)
Scoliosis screening & exercises
Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) and acquired or congenital spinal cord disorder rehabilitation
