Center for Clinical Research

Mission The Mission of the Center for Clinical Research (CCR) is to enhance the delivery of evidence-based, cost-effective health care by creating an environment in which clinical and academic investigators work together on the production and dissemination of health research that influences patient care outcomes. The goal of the Center for Clinical Research is to become a nationally recognized center of excellence for interdisciplinary and nursing health research. Five values serve as the standards against which all activities are evaluated.

These are:

  1. Integrity in all scientific and professional endeavors
  2. Respect for patients, clinicians, academicians, and support personnel and the unique contributions of each to the research.
  3. Accountability in the use of time and human, technological, and financial resources
  4. Advocacy for the rights and welfare of research subjects
  5. Interdisciplinary collaboration in research endeavors
Further, we believe that achievements of the identified mission can occur with a sustained commitment to four key processes
  1. Development - processes related to becoming a viable and productive entity within the organization
  2. Inquiry - the process of systematic inquiry directed at knowledge development, knowledge validation, and knowledge synthesis
  3. Communication - processes related to the acquisition and dissemination of knowledge and information
  4. Evaluation - processes related to determining the need to regulate, maintain or change DMC-CCR patient care, structures and functions
